Many people die each year
because of the negligence, or fault, of others. Nevada, like most
states, has a law commonly referred to as a "wrongful death" statute.
The law, Nevada Revised Statutes 41.085, allows certain family members
to bring a claim against the person who causes the death of a person.
If the wrongdoer is also dead, the claim may be made against that
person's personal representative. Under the law, a claim may also be
made against the wrongdoer's employer if the employer is responsible
for the wrongdoer's conduct.
